3D archery, a hot tasty BBQ, and glorious sunshine – what’s not to like?
White Mark Bowmen’s August club day brought members and coaches together for shooting, learning, and community spirit.
The morning featured a seven-target 3D funs hoot, with mixed groups to encourage meeting new people and seeing different bow styles. Scores were secondary to camaraderie, banter, and fun.
After lunch in the shade, courtesy of our hard-working volunteer chefs, the “Bring and Buy” stall offered bargains from surplus club kit and members’ gear—one lucky young archer picked up his first compound. Afternoon talks covered sighting methods and arrow spine, sparking lively discussion. The chronograph station proved a hit, letting archers measure arrow speeds and link them to tuning.
A key aim was introducing the coaching team, with one-to-one sessions helping members at all levels. Feedback was unanimous—an enjoyable and worthwhile day for all.
